Training
Working Group. Since 1993, the this group has been developing
key components and methodologies for IWRAW Asia Pacific's training
package on the CEDAW Convention. Some of the members are: Eleanor
Conda (Philippines), Madhu Mehra (India), Shireen Huq (Bangladesh),
Shanthi Dairiam (IWRAW Asia Pacific).
Pool of Trainers. IWRAW Asia Pacific relies on an experienced
pool of trainers to carry out workshops and programmes at the
national and regional level. Key resource persons include: Andrew
Byrnes (Australia),
Dianne Otto (Australia), Eleanor Conda (Philippines), Geetha Devi (India),
Geetha Ramaseshan (India), Ivy Josiah (Malaysia), Madhu Mehra
(India), Ruth Manorama (India), S.K. Priya (India), Shireen Huq
(Bangladesh), Tulika Srivastava (India).
From Global
to Local Project Team. IWRAW Asia Pacific and UNIFEM have
convened a group of women's advocates with extensive experience
in international advocacy to work together on designing and implementing
all the components of the project. Members include
Alda Facio (Women, Gender and Justice Program - ILANUD), Debra Liebowitz (Drew University), Lee Waldorf (UNIFEM).
Advisory Group of the Global Campaign for Ratification and Use of the Optional Protocol to CEDAW (OP-CEDAW). Members include:
- Alda Facio ( Costa Rica ), independent expert
Human rights lawyer and women's rights activist, member of the 1998 and 1998 Costa Rican delegation to the drafting of the OP-CEDAW.
- Donna Sullivan (USA), independent expert
Human rights lawyer and women’s rights activist.
- Shanthi Dairiam, independent expert
CEDAW committee member and women’s rights activist.
- Barbara Limanowska ( Poland ), representative from Europe
Independent consultant with the OSCE.
- Sapana Pradhan Malla ( Nepal ), representative from Asia
President of the Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD).
- Marlene Libardoni (Brasil), representative from the Americas
Feminist, women’s human rights activist, and Executive Director of Agende (Actions on Gender Citizenship and Development) a Brasilian NGO. Also a member of IIDH (Interamerican Institute of Human Rights, Costa Rica ) and the delegation to the drafting of the OP-CEDAW. Helped to coordinate the OP-CEDAW ratification process in Brazil and in partnership with Cladem-Brasil, improved the 2003 Brasilian CEDAW NGO Shadow Report.

Feminist human rights activist, independent consultant, member of the New Woman Foundation (feminist Egyptian NGO), and member of the Egyptian Coalition on CEDAW.

Sub-Regional Coordinator of Women and Law Development in Africa (WiLDAF-West Africa ).
IWRAW Asia Pacific is the secretariat for the Advisory Group of the Global Campaign for Ratification and Use of the OP-CEDAW.
