Relevant Case Law

This section is aimed primarily at advocates who are interested in getting involved in bringing claims of violations of women’s human rights at the national level or under the individual complaints procedure of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (OP-CEDAW). It provides an overview of jurisprudence from around the globe.

The first set of cases in this section provides advocates with information about landmark cases on women’s human rights at the national, regional and international levels. The second set illustrates the ways other UN treaty bodies have dealt with procedural matters similar to those included in the OP-CEDAW.
