Involving
NGOs
NGOs work directly
with women at various levels to promote their interests. They are
sensitive to the needs of women in different contexts and have access
to relevant information regarding obstacles to the advancement of
women. It would be advisable to hold a consultation with relevant
NGOS before finalising the States party report. Consensus on what
the obstacles are and the priority actions that need to be taken
will provide the basis for a relationship of collaboration. Such
a relationship and collaboration can be mutually beneficial.
