Comparative Legal Review of the Impact of Muslim Family Laws on Women across Commonwealth Asia and Africa

2019

Article 16 of CEDAW specifically provides for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls in all matters relating to marriage and family relations. This 135-page report, in PDF format, was authored by Musawah and commissioned and edited by Sisters for Change, and provides a comprehensive legal review of Muslim family laws across Commonwealth Asia and Africa, analysing the nature and extent to which they discriminate against Muslim women and girls.
